Airports

In 2017, 4.1 billion individuals passed through airports, a number that is expected to reach 7.8 billion people by 2036. Airports therefore have acquired a key role in the spread of contagious diseases, especially viral diseases.

The current key ndings of the MIT Nicolaides study show that only 20% of airport travellers have clean hands. If that number could be upped by 10% the global spread of disease could be reduced by as much as 24%. And if that number of airport travellers with clean hands could reach 60%, the spread of disease could decelerate by as much as 69%.
